“The Israeli forces practice their military training, sometimes forcing us out of our homes day or night. Israeli soldiers stormed in five minutes before our dinner. My youngest child was terrified, falling and injuring himself as he ran. Exhausted from fasting, my wife grabbed only a pot of soup as the soldiers forced out all eight of my children. We fled on foot, terrified to take our tractor in case the soldiers would confiscate it. It is essential to stay in my land, and to live my life with dignity.  I know everything about this land.  I sat under each and every tree on the mountain; I know it rock by rock.” — Hayel Hussain Mahmoud Turkman, 41 years old, Khirbet Ibziq, Occupied West Bank
