“One of the scenes I remember was of people whose bodies were grey with dust. When I started painting, this came out of me as I remembered what I saw.” — Mohammed Al Haj, Gazan fine artist

When Art Speaks Up

Mohammed Al Haj is a fine artist from Gaza. He painted a series of portraits and displayed them in an exhibition under the theme (Transfer) which is about forced displacement and eviction. In the last crisis, he found himself drawing a very fine piece of the moment when he saw people fleeing from Gaza’s towers during the bombing.
