“Their bedroom was the most important part of the house, they cried over it.” — Fadel Abassi, father of two boys

A Children’s Bedroom Destroyed

The home of Fadel Abassi, father of two boys, was destroyed. According to the affected family, Israeli forces very aggressively attacked them in addition to the Palestinians who gathered in the area, and consequently resulting in many injuries in the head and several arrests.

“The children are traumatized. This was the first time they’ve ever had a bedroom for themselves. Our past homes never had space. You cannot imagine the child and how happy he was when he finally got his room, and now it is demolished.

My children and the family were asleep this morning. Israeli forces broke in, and their team demolished the house on top of our furniture. They did not allow me to take anything from the house.

We asked them to give us five minutes to take whatever is important in the house, but they did not allow us to do that. We told them we had the right to take our furniture out before demolition, then they started yelling and assaulting us, they threw sound and gas grenades, and physically assaulted me and my brothers.

My children ask me about their rooms; they ask me about their beds, where they are going to sleep. Their bedroom was the most important part of the house, they cried over it.”
